Connectivity-based and Load-balanced Cluster Routing for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

(in English) Conventional routing protocols in ad hoc networks have problems that links are broken and control signals expand when increasing the number of nodes.
Clustering methods have been proposed to reduce the amount of control signals, but they are difficult to adjust to the topology and balance the trafic load of cluster heads.
In this paper, we propose connectivity-based and load-balanced cluster routing (CLBC) for mobile ad hoc networks.
In CLBC, we select a cluster head which has a lot of adjacent nodes by two hops to improve the connectivity of the cluster.
We reduce the load of the cluster heads and decrease the number of hops by constructing a route without using cluster heads.
Simulation results show that CLBC can improve the packet derivery ratio and ruduce the number of control packets compared with the conventional routing protocols.
