| (in English) | Quality of experience (QoE) management is one of the key technologies for various services in next generation network (NGN). In IPTV services, not only bearer quality on carrier network but also implementations of end-terminals (STB: set top box) strongly affect end-users’ QoE. Therefore, in-service quality operation methods in corporation with the end-terminals are needed to monitor end-to-end QoE. This paper propose a framework for end-users’ QoE monitoring for IPTV services by using network performance metrics (packet layer model). We then discuss a QoE estimating technology and quality information reporting methods to achieve end-users’ QoE monitoring. There are some standardized technologies which define the protocols for remote maintenance of the end-terminals such as RTCP XR, TR-069, and UPnP. This paper also discusses the issues when these protocols are applied to end-users’ QoE monitoring. | |
