Cylindrical Finite-Length Wire EBG Antenna

(in English) In this report, a new antenna of a cylindrical EBG structure composed of finite-length wires is proposed. These wires, which can be equivalent to artificial dielectric, are placed in circularly and radially periodic structure which is excited at its center using a monopole. By using the method of moment, it is shown that the radiation to the direction of the periodic plane is intercepted if the length and the interval of the wires are appropriately chosen. Then, by introducing some defects in the periodic structure, it has been clarified that a directive beam in the plane can be obtained.
