Reliability management of telecommunication networks
Hiroyuki Funakoshi, Tatsuya Matsukawa (NTT) IN2009-115
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The authors have been insisted on the importance of reliability management for IP networks, and established the management measures.
Generally, the reliability engineering consists of three probabilities such that reliability, maintainability, and availability. Instead of reliability and maintainability, failure rate and repair rate are also used.
These measures are not always able to apply to telecommunication networks,
because the number of equipments and users change.
In this paper, we systematize the results of our research, and coordinate to the existing reliability engineering. Moreover, we deal with the reliability management methods of telecommunication networks. These methods stand on the combination with our measures and our results the quantification of social influence for telecommunication network outages.
