An Error Probability Analysis of 2-dimensional Sensor Networks

(in English) In wireless sensor networks, information obtained by a sensor node is transmitted to a fusion center by a relay transmission. In this paper, we consider a network composed of one sensor or source node and multiple intermediate nodes, which are linked to a fusion center. The fusion center aggregates information and makes majority decision. We present a model for a network with 2-dimensional randomly deployed nodes, and evaluate the performance by both analytical and computer simulation results. We demonstrate error probability improvements due to majority decision which is produced by path diversity effects due to a number of routes in the wireless sensor networks.
