Characteristics of Longitudinal Vibration of Hollow Type Stepped Horn to Cut a Circle Shape by Ultrasonic Vibration

(in English) Currently, laser and water jet are used to cut a circle shape in brittle material. However, the disadvantage of these methods is that conventional equipment is large and its structure is complex. To solve this issue, a method using ultrasonic vibration of a hollow-type stepped horn for cutting is developed, and we foresee that equipment can be simplified and miniaturized. In this study, longitudinal vibration characteristics of a hollow-type stepped horn are clarified.
