DoA Estimation Based 2D-ESPRIT Algorithm and Selection Criterion with 7-Element Hexagonal Array

(in English) A method of direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation based on 2D-ESPRIT algorithm and selection criterion with 7-element hexagonal array is proposed. A set of estimated candidates are obtained by applying the standard 2D-ESPRIT algorithm to three pairs of subarrays. The pair of subarrays is with translational invariance. The DoA estimates are successively selected from the estimated elevation and azimuth angles in the candidate set, based on the selection criterion with MUSIC spectrum. Benefit from the three pairs of subarrays, the proposed method suppresses the error dependence of elevation and azimuth angles. Simulation shows that the proposed method reduces the root mean square error, compared with the standard 2D-ESPRIT algorithm with two pairs of subarrays.
