An Extraction Method of Text Input Area of Scanned Form Fill-in Sheet with Single Mouse Clicking

(in English) There are some demands for filling application forms using PC. In order to enter the text in the input field of scanned form fill-in sheet, it is needed to detect and set the text input area on the sheet. There are two kinds of method to set the area. They are manual setting and automatic one. However, user takes a lot of time to set the area manually. On the other hand, with automatic setting, some input areas are not set correctly and then user must to correct the area manually. In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic method of setting the text input area on the scanned form fill-in sheet using user’s single mouse clicking on the area. The experimental result shows that proposed method can set the text input area correctly and efficiently.
