A Study on Absolute Value Control taking Currently Available Bandwidth

(in English) Absolute value control has been once proposed for PSTN traffic congestions. It has been evaluated as also effective for IP communication networks where only audio sessions of fixed bandwidth are requested using SIP, under the assumption that the U-plane resource is ensured. However, in addition to the resulting C-plane control, bandwidth resource admission control will also be used that copes with shortage of the U-plane resource, because traffic for services that require various bandwidths increases in NGN.
This paper describes the problem of C-plane and U-plane resources not being utilized fully when they are used together, and it also proposes enhancements to the absolute value control that takes currently available bandwidth to solve the problem.
