Selection of Base Station for Maximizing Packet Delivery Ratio for Streaming over Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Road-to-Vehicle Communication

(in English) In recent years, a lot of researchers have directed their attention to road-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-vehicle communication in order to realize safe and automatic driving systems.
If an infrastructure for this communication is built, it will be possible to use streaming services on the Internet from a vehicle.
In this paper, we propose a method for the selection of a base station to maximize packet delivery ratio between the base station and the vehicle.
In our proposed method, each vehicle estimates the packet delivery ratio while relaying hello packets from the base station.
Through preliminary simulation evaluations, we confirm that our proposed method maintains higher packet delivery ratio than the basic method by which a vehicle always accesses the nearest base station.
