It has been reported that the strength and latency differ depending on the direction of vection. For example, the vection produced by expanding visual motion (forward vection) is stronger than that produced by contracting motion(backward vection). This perceptual anisotoropy could be due to the difference in the experiential accumulation of the
expanding and contracting visual patterns in general living environment. In the present study, we aimed to show whether this assumption is valid or not. To clarify this, we did two experiments. In experiment 1, it was investigated whether a long-term experience affects vection, In the experiment 2, it was investigated whether a short-term experience would affect vection by learning.Through experiments 1 and 2, It was clarified that a long-term experience and the short-term experience influence
vection. |
