Satellite network and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are expected to evolve as new communication methods due to the fact that they do not depend on fixed infrastructures. In this paper, we propose a scheme which combines ad hoc networks with satellite networks. In particular, we focus on the connection environment between the ground mobile nodes and the satellites. Our purpose is to utilize the bandwidths of the satellites more efficiently using ad hoc networks. We mainly deal with the situation whereby ground users are unable to use their respective bandwidths to the satellite because of the limitation pertaining to the excessive number of simultaneous connections with the satellite. |
