(in English) This paper numerically evaluates waveform distortion and resulting eye opening penalty of RZ-DPSK signals in long-distance optical fiber transmission systems. RZ-DPSK is almost equal to RZ-OOK in the eye opening penalty under the same peak power of the RZ pulses. Effect of dispersion compensation, including pre-compensation in the transmitter, is also discussed.
