This paper presents a novel tunable bandpass filter that configures its center frequency, bandwidth, and transfer function. The proposed tunable filter comprises a ring resonator, switches, varactors and tunable J-inverters. The center frequency of the proposed filter can be changed by varying the capacitance of varactors. The bandwidth and transfer function
of the proposed filter can be also changed by choosing one “on-state” switch from many switches connected to the resonator. Tunable J-inverter is composed of the transmission line and varactor that is loaded to the transmission line. Tunable J-inverter changes its characteristics by changing the capacitance of the varactor so that 90 degrees are kept as the phase difference between input and output ports. |
