A multi-section Wilkinson power divider is used as broadband power dividers/combiners for many microwave applications. Although this divider can be simply realized with microstrip lines and resistive films, it needs relatively long resistive films near the divided ports to achieve high resistance value for isolation resistors. The length of the resistive films degrades the divider performance at high frequency region where the length is not negligible compared with the wavelength. In this paper, a 2-section Wilkinson power divider with intersectional capacitive elements for compensating the length of the resistive films has been presented. The intersectional capacitive elements operate as the compensating network for short resistive film in odd-mode and long resistive film in even-mode. The validity of the proposed divider has been demonstrated by the simulation and measurement results. |
