Detection Method for Digital Watermark with Dual-Sided Correlation

(in English) The watermark systems should be robust against common image processing operations, such as noise adding and JPEG compression. The correlation-based watermark systems are known as robust against common image processing operations. However, the correlation is usually one-sided correlation, so when the correlation between the discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients of original image and key sequence is negative value, it makes the robustness weak. In this paper, we propose the two-sided correlation based image watermark methods. In this method, we take into account the negative correlation in the detection process. By using this method, if the correlation between the DCT coefficients and key sequence is negative value, the robustness of the watermark is retained. Finally, we show the numerical example to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed watermark systems. From the simulation results, we can see the robustness against JPEG compression, Gaussian noise and cropping is improved.
