As wireless device increases, there have been growing desires for wireless power transfer technique. We have proposed a wireless power transfer technology using sheet-shaped waveguide, free access mat, which is introduced in order to reduce the effect of interference in short range wireless access. Free access mat has some advantages: It has a simple structure of two layers of patch array and it is easy to implement. It is also easy to excite by any antennas or resonators at an arbitrary position on the free access mat. Coupled electromagnetic wave is concentrated into the free access mat and thus transmits with much smaller loss than free space transmission. The concentration is stronger with one-dimensional free access mat. We thus use one-dimensional free access mat for efficient power transfer in this paper. In addition small radiated electric field and small effect to wireless devices out of the free access mat is desired property for safety. In this paper we demonstrate wireless power transfer using one-dimensional free access mat. |
