Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Variation of the HRTFs in low frequency range for source directions is generally small because of diffraction around a listener's head and torso in that range. It remains unclear how the directional dependence of the HRTFs in low frequency range influence the localization. In this paper, influence of simplifying characteristics HRTFs in low frequency range upon localization was investigated for the purpose of the reduction in data size of HRTFs. The localization test was conducted by using HRTFs of which the frequency characteristics were flattened in lower frequency range than a certain boundary frequency. The results for suggested that the shape of the frequency characteristics over 1~kHz was important for the front-back perception.
