Auto Tone Mapping Method to Generate and Decode High Contrast Halftone Images in Visual Cryptography

(in English) An automatic tone mapping method is proposed in order to genarate and decode high contrast natural images.
In halftone visual cryptography, three grayscale images are input and two binary halftone images, which correspond to two of them, are generated in the way that the rest of them is visually decoded by overlapping the two halftone images. In order to enhance image contrast, a conventional method has proposed the concept that noise added to each image is permitted to enlarge dynamic range. However, the conventional method has not proposed the automatic tone mapping method which can control the trade-off between noise and dynamic range. Therefore, we define the metric to asset the amount of noise and clarify the tone mapped condition that satisfies the highest dynamic renage and the predefined maximal amount of noise. By using that condition, we propose the automatic and unique tone mapping method.
