Visual attention has three modes of selection; space-based, feature-based and object-based. In the object-based mode, same-object advantage, which enhance efficiency of information processing for an whole attended object, is well-known. In this study, we demonstrate that such an object-based effect in simple reaction time experiments can be explained by spatial attention. The results suggests one interpretation of the same-object advantage in a space-based manner. |
