Emergency messages are important for everyone in protecting oneself from danger in everyday life. In this report, we focus upon the use of Japanese Sign Language (JSL) for the message. Where JSL is a means of communication for deaf people in Japan. We investigate the process for JSL messages generation and transmission to receivers, and then introduce a functional model for JSL emergency message system including JSL interpretation of Japanese text. From the model together with the results for the previous experiment of JSL message generation, we consider the features for JSL messaging channel. We also point out certain issues to be carefully considered for building JSL message channel equivalent to Japanese one. |
