General discussion of randomizations for quantum stream cipher by Y-00
Osamu Hirota (Tamagawa Univ.) OCS2009-12
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) t is well known that there is the Shannon limit for the conventional symmetric key cipher. However, there is no proof such that the Shannon limit is an absolute limitation. Hence it should be denoted that the conventional ciphers belong to the Shannon theoretical frame. If one can show a counter example, one may say that it is outside of the Shannon frame. Yuen protocol so called Y-00 is an example of the ciphers which get out of the Shannon frame. Y-00 consists of Gauss private randomization and quantum measurement theory. Unfortunately, the basic model of Y-00 gets out very small of the Shannon frame. The main subject of this paper is to discuss how to extend the attractive property of the basic model of Y-00 by means of randomization.
