Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Nowadays, many pedestrian recognition schemes for automotive and surveillance applications are proposed. In such applications, first, pedestrians are founded by detection process and next, locations of the pedestrians are estimated by tracking process using images captured from a far view point. To achieve accurate recognition with such schemes, both detection and tracking must be precise. For detection, some excellent schemes suitable for pedestrian recognition from a far view point are proposed, however, any tracking schemes can not achieve sufficient performance. To construct an accurate tracking schemes suitable for pedestrian recognition from a far view point, we make a study on feature extraction method for tracking that affects tracking accuracy considerably.
