Localized Oscillatory Excitation on Nerve Fields for Self-Organizing Neural Models

(in English) As a solution to the binding problem, there is a hypothesis that the binding of information is represented by phase-locking among oscillatory recognition cells.
We conducted a basic study to implement this hypothesis into a neural model of separated extraction of information by two self-organizing neural fields.
We showed that a neural oscillator field with two Mexican-hat connection patterns keeps two or more than two localized oscillatory excitations stably around local maximums of external inputs, and also realizes in-phase phase-locking within a localized oscillatory excitation, but anti-phase phase-locking between different localized oscillatory excitations.
