Congestion Avoidance Method by Multipath control using Multiple Beacons for Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) In sensor networks, energy-efficiency is a crucial issue since sensor
nodes are battery-powered in many cases. Power consumption is reduced by
sleep control in beacon mode of IEEE 802.15.4. However, as the traffic
increases, the congestion causes the increase of end-to-end transmission
delays and power consumption, and reduction of delivery ratio caused by
the intermittent activation. This report proposes a novel multipath control method enabling the congestion reduction in IEEE 802.15.4 beacon
mode. The proposed method consists of Real-Multipath (RM) and Virtual-Multipath (VM). RM reduces the congestion caused by the intermittent activation, VM mitigates the congestion in the vicinity of a sink node. The proposed method is evaluated by the simulation, The simulation result shows that the proposed method achieves high delivery ratio and low latency while keeping low power consumption.
