Inflated Lattice Precoding to Improve Error Rate Performance in Turbo Coded Downlink MU-MIMO Systems

(in English) This paper presents improved transmission performance of inflated lattice precoding (ILP) compared to Tomlinson Harashima precoding (THP) in turbo coded downlink multi-user multiple input multiple output (DL MU-MIMO) systems. THP, which has already widely applied to DL MU-MIMO systems, takes advantage of the spatial radio resource generated by growing number of transmission antennas at base stations. However, THP has a problem degrading the error rate performance in low signal to noise power ratio (SNR) region. On the other hand, ILP evades the problem to give a better performance than THP. ILP is a precoding method based on minimum mean square error criterion, and the difference between ILP and THP enlarges in the lower SNR region. It indicates a large performance gap with error correcting code. This paper evaluates transmission performances of DL MU-MIMO systems by applying BLAST (Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time) –like method and Turbo code, providing high coding gains, and proves that ILP outperforms THP.
