Laser isotope separation of Zirconium utilizing the difference of selection rules between odd and even isotopes has been examined. In the four-step photoionization experiment the odd isotope was highly selectively ionized. Single-color and two-color multiphoton ionization spectra were measured. Among 124 ionization peaks have observed in the wavelength range from 565 nm to 652 nm , six ionization peaks showed isotopic selectivity in their mass spectrum. The method can be also applicable to Zr-93 isotope separation. |
