Performance Evaluation of A Spectrum-Overlapped Resource Management using Single Carrier under Multi-User Environment

(in English) In this paper, based on the single carrier transmission under the multi-user environment of uplink, a spectrum-over-lapped resource management (SORM) with turbo equalizer using a dynamic spectrum control (DSC) is generalized. Then the improvement of a further band utilization efficiency is evaluated. SORM is a technique that allows each user's spectrum to overlap it mutually and determines the frequency assignment only according to the path gain. By adopting turbo equalizer as the signal detection scheme for multiuser detection (MUD), it removes not only inter-symbol interference (ISI) but also inter-user interference (IUI). The signal of each user can be completely separated as a result. In this paper, we evaluated the characteristics of SORM under the multi user environment when the transmission rate of the entire system band is made constant. In addition, the possibility of achieving the broadband transmission more than the system band by band spreading of each user is evaluated. The simulation result shows that SORM allows users to obtain maximum frequency selection diversity. And, when each user's band is enhanced, it is shown to be able to increase the band utilization efficiency by over 30% with same frame error rate with past FDMA-type of SC based DSC.
