Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We evaluated the binocular fusional limit in fifteen myopic subjects (visual acuity < 1.0, or 20/20) and fifteen emmetropia subjects (visual acuity ≥1.0) to examine its possible dependence on visual acuity, using a stereo viewing system equipped with synchronized liquid crystal shutter glasses. In the measurement, the myopia subjects wore lenses to have a corrected vision of 1.0. The results suggest enlargement of the fusional area in the myopia group. This may be explained by the combined effects of decrease in the retinal resolution due to eye-axis extension and decrease in the retinal image size caused by the corrective lenses.
