| (in English) | Attentional modulation in early vision might affect the determination of border-ownership (BO) that indicates the direction of figure with respect to the border. The purpose of my study is to investigate the role of spatial attention applied to early vision on the determination of BO through psychophysical experiments and computational model. The model showed good agreement with psychophysical experiments in the magnitude of attentional modulation including the determination of BO for ambiguous figures which consists of the combination of pseudo white-noise stimuli. These results indicate that the activities of model BO-selective cells could be modulated significantly by spatial attention that alters local contrast gain in V1, which may account in part for automatic, bi-stable perception in ambiguous figures. | |
