We propose a new hash function family AURORA supporting output lengths of
224, 256, 384, and 512 bits. The AURORA family contains of six algorithms. Each algorithm employs security enhanced Merkle-Damg\aa rd or Double-Mix Merkle-Damg\aa rd transform to satisfy the required output length and strength. In each compression function, a structure which is enhanced by the diffusion switching mechanism is used to achieve high security with minimum operations. AURORA-256 achieves about 15.4 cycles/byte, 1.25Gbps in software on 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and about 1.10 Gpbs with less than 9 Kgates in hardware using a 0.13 $\mu$m CMOS ASIC library. |
