Multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) system for ultra wideband (UWB) communication spreads subcarrier signal over a large bandwidth, which offers large frequency diversity benefits. In this report, we derive the theoretical bit error rate (BER) of MB-OFDM UWB that adopts time and frequency spreading. This theoretical derivation takes into account frequency characteristics of propagation loss, as well as fading correlation determined by both the subcarrier frequency separation and the delay spread. The theoretical results by the proposed approach are compared with the computer simulation results in order to confirm the validity of the proposed derivation. |
