Reduced-Rank MMSE Signal Detection for MC/CDMA Communication Systems

(in English) The MC/CDMA communication system has received much attention as one of the most promising systems for the future high-speed mobile communication because of its high frequency utilization efficiency and easy equalization of received data, suffered from only flat fading under multipath environments. But, when applying the MMSE signal detection, there occurs such a problem that it is very sensitive to channel estimation errors, causing severe SINR performance degradation. The DL (Diagonal Loading) technique has been mainly reported as a method to provide robustness against such errors. In this paper, we study the effectiveness of the reduce-rank signal detection method in providing the robustness against the channel estima-tion errors, in comparison with the DL technique. Specifically, two reduced-rank filters; the CGRRF (Conjugate Gradient Re-duced Rank Filter) based on the conjugate gradient method, and RGMF (Recursive Gradient MMSE Filter) previously pro-posed by the authors, are experimentally discussed with respect to the robustness, and comparisons with the DL are also given.
