A study on the on-demand contents distribution method using cooperative diversity

(in English) In this report, the on-demand contents distribution system utilizing a cooperation diversity technique is proposed and the aim of the utilization is to achieve less diffusion time. The assumed network consists of control station including contents server, and a number of access points (AP) and nodes corresponding to users and IEEE 802.11 DCF MAC protocol is assumed. For the contents delivery, not only a infrastructure communication between AP‐terminal but also ad-hoc communication between terminal‐terminal are used. Since it is possible select the communication type, the diversity gain is achievable.
In addition, we use the cooperation diversity technique which can also achieve diversity by multiple routes and a multicast would be possible. The multicast communication is from the source to the destination and cooperative node. In the cooperation diversity technique, a cooperative node selection is one of the important issues and the ususal criterion is to maximize the channel capacity between the source and destination. In our proposal, not only the criterion for the source to destination when it is unicast but also the different criterion to maximize the channel capacity for the multicast are employed. By the computer simulation results, the proposed on-demand contents distribution system can outperform the other conventional system where the conventional cooperative node selection method is used in terms of the diffusion time.
