A Study on the Design of OFDM Systems with Clipping Noise Cancellation

(in English) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system is well known for its high bandwidth
efficiency and robustness against multipath fading. However, OFDM system has a major drawback that its OFDM
signal has high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAR). Clipping And Filtering (CAF) is a practical way to reduce the
peak power of OFDM signal, but it also introduces BER degradation due to non-linear distortion that should be
compensated for at the receiver side. Among some compensation schemes, Clipping Noise Cancellation (CNC) is a
promising way to improve the bit error rate performance. In this paper, we investigate the performance and design
of both uncoded and coded OFDM systems with CNC for given coded modulation and the number of subcarriers.
