Fundamental study on Counter-Crossed Beam Contrast Echo method -- Measurement of flow velocity by sum frequency component --

(in English) We propose a new contrast echo method using the counter crossed beams of two ultrasonic frequencies as an ultrasound diagnostic of cancer, which we call Counter-Cross Beam Contrast Echo (C-CBCE) method. The sum or difference frequency components that are derived from the nonlinear vibration of the contrast agents (microbubbles) driven by dual-frequency ultrasound are used in C-CBCE method. In this study, We used Sonazoid as microbubbles. we attemped to detect the sum frequency component generated from Sonazoid which are fixed in agar gel . Also we measured the flow velocity of Sonazoid in channel. Ultrasound frequencies were 2.0 MHz and 2.8 MHz, respectively. We extracted the sum frequency component (4.8 MHz) generated by nonlinear vibration of Sonazoid from the echo signals. The measured values of flow velocity are agreed with those of the actual velocity in the range of 40 mm/s to 80 mm/s.
