An Evaluation of Linearization Methods for Loudspeaker Systems Using Dynamic Distortion Method

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we demonstrate the compensation effect of the nonlinear distortions for the loudspeaker system using the dynamic distortion method. In order to compensate the nonlinear distortions, it is necessary to design the linearization system using the Volterra filter or the Mirror filter which uses the motion equation of the loudspeaker system related to the nonlinear distortions. The swept sine wave is usually used for the verification of the compensation effect of the nonlinear distortions. However, the evaluation result is not always corresponding to the actual situations because the input signals to loudspeaker systems are a wideband signal like music and voice signals. Hence, we have used the dynamic distortion method using the white noise and examined the compensation effect considering up to the $2^{nd}$-order nonlinear distorion. In this paper, we examine the compensation effect using the linearization system considering up to the $3^{rd}$-order nonlinear distorion and the Mirror filter.
