Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Acoustic sensing in the air has the potential to acquire information about an object such as its position, shape, material and movement effectively. Nevertheless, it is difficult to identify acoustic signals from small objects clearly because of environmental noises, sound attenuation and scattering of object surface. We have been presented the performance of object detection using the M-sequence signal in an indoor environment. By using M-sequence signal, it was able to improve SN ratio and to measure the reflected waves from small object that can not be detected by using a conventional impulse. In this paper, we present a technique to get an equivalent effect of multiple transmission using simultaneous transmission of M-sequence signals. A cross-correlation between preferred pair M-sequences has small value. A simultaneous transmission of M-sequence signals enables acoustic imaging with high resolution only by one transmission.
