| (in English) | As high density optical interconnection for the next generation large capacity information processing equipments, we have been developing 2-layer optical waveguide boards and compact optical I/O modules by using the effective optical coupling structure and the waveguide fabrication techniques. We proposed the ‘Cube Core’ structure, which is the effective method for suppressing the optical coupling loss of multi-layer optical waveguide. We fabricated the 2-layer optical waveguide board to demonstrate the effectiveness of our structure, and the all insertion optical losses between the transmitters and the receivers were small, less than 5.3 dB. We also demonstrated the practicable optical performance by the parallel 10-Gbps optical transmissions in the optical printed circuit board. | |
