In this paper, we developed a scheme to prolong life span of sensor network by reducing the energy consumption in transmission at sensor nodes. We paid attention to LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) that is one of the clustering methods. The Proposed scheme can reduce energy consumption by adding the operation of thinning out Cluster-Heads in LEACH scheme. I compared proposal method with LEACH in the viewpoint of the amount of remaining energy in battery. The simulation results show that the proposal method is effective in energy consumption. Also, we confirmed that the proposed scheme can autonomously adjust the ratio to select the cluster head to be almost optimum. |
