In recent years, superresolution DOA estimation with an array antenna has become indispensable for various application fields.
However, DOA estimation performance of the superresolution methods deteriorates significantly when mutual coupling and position error of array elements exist.
Therefore array calibration is necessary.
We have proposed a calibration method based on the concept of virtual array.
The proposed method has a feature that the number of elements is assumed to be greater than that of the real array at the calibration.
In the proposed method, maximum number of the virtual array elements is limited by the number of calibration datasets.
In this report, the optimization of virtual element position is considered to improve the calibration accuracy using a few virtual elements. |
