[Poster Presentation] Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization for 3D Medical Image Registration

(in English) Medical image registration is increasingly important in biomedical research. The registration process can be viewed as an optimization problem that would be solved by an iterated process. Local optimization techniques, such as gradient method, frequently fall into a local minimum. Therefore, global optimization techniques are often required. A new particle swarm technique is proposed for optimization of nonlinear function. In this paper we propose a Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization for 3D medical image registration, which combines the idea of the particle swarm with concepts from Evolutionary Algorithm and Genetic Algorithm. We have proved experimentally that proposed method much better than Genetic Algorithm and simple Particle Swarm Optimization and found validities and possibilities of Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization.
