It has been reported that the degree of subcortical vascular dementia correlates with white matter hyperintensity (WMH) area ratio, which is an area ratio of WMHs to a brain parenchyma. Our purpose of this study was to develop a computerized evaluation method for WMHs related to subcortical vascular dementia based on automated and semiautomated segmentations. As a result, the degree of coincidence between the WMH grand truth and regions obtained by our proposed method was 73.9%. |
