Computerized Detection of White Matter Hyperintensity Related to Subcortical Vascular Dementia Based on Automated and Semiautomated Segmentation

(in English) It has been reported that the degree of subcortical vascular dementia correlates with white matter hyperintensity (WMH) area ratio, which is an area ratio of WMHs to a brain parenchyma. Our purpose of this study was to develop a computerized evaluation method for WMHs related to subcortical vascular dementia based on automated and semiautomated segmentations. As a result, the degree of coincidence between the WMH grand truth and regions obtained by our proposed method was 73.9%.
