[Poster Presentation] Automated estimation of the position of prostate using a shape model in CT images

(in English) Recently, the morbidity rate of the prostate cancer is on the increase. Moreover, the chance to take picture of the human body widely has increased. Therefore, if early detection of the prostate cancer can be done from a body X-ray CT image, it will be useful for the patient. However, prostate extractions based on CT values are difficult. The purpose of our study is to develop an automated method in estimating the center point of the prostate gland in torso X-ray image. The result of the center coordinates estimated using our method result in few errors. And the effectiveness of this technique demonstrated in this paper.
