[Keynote Address] Quantitative Image Analysis of Breast MRI

(in English) The role of breast MRI in the management of the cancer patient is increasing. This lecture will provide an overview of our recent developments in the quantitative image analysis of the breast MR image including the calculations of morphological and kinetic characteristics. These 。ァimage-based biomarkers。ィ are being evaluated for use in computer-aided diagnosis, as prognostic markers, as predictive markers, and in the assessment of breast cancer risk. Results of observer studies with our MRI CAD workstation and performance evaluation with different cancer subtypes will also be presented. It is expected that further understanding of the morphological and kinetic characteristics of breast lesions will ultimately improve the management of the cancer patient.
