Color Transfer Method Employing Hue Histograms

(in English) The color transfer is the recoloring method which reflects the color information of a referenced image into an input image. Some color transfer methods, for example, the methods transferring a color distribution or a chroma distribution have been proposed so far. In this report, a new color transfer method, which transfers hue information, is proposed. In the proposed method, the hue information transfer is achieved by modifying the hue histogram of an input image so that the shape of it becomes close to that of a referenced image. Moreover, the effective color transfer reflecting the impression of images well is realized by considering chroma of images and relative frequencies of a hue histogram. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through the experiments.
