Performance Evaluation of Sensor Data Collection on DLNA/UPnP-ZigBee Gateway

(in English) In recent years, the products compliant to DLNA that is the standard to share the content in home networks have been increasing. In sensor network, ZigBee that is the standard of low power wireless communication has been attracting attention. We have researched and developed DLNA/UPnP-ZigBee gateway in order to extend range of the service by interoperating these two standards. The gateway collects the sensor data from every sensor node all at once. However, the more the number of nodes increases, the more packet delivery ratio lowers. In this paper, we implemented the gateway, and took measures to improve the loss of packets by using the cache mechanism. We evaluated the performance of the gateway by making experiments of sensor data collection at the floor of an office building. Then, we evaluated packet delivery ratio of response packets and verified the effectiveness of the cache mechanism.
