Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Vibration and destruction of the gas-filled capsule was applied often in the ultrasonic diagnosis and therapy. In these techniques, the capsule behavior is so important and should be significantly affected by a mechanical characteristic of the shell. In this study, we tried to fabricate biodegradable gas-filled capsule with poly-lactic acid shell to examine relationship between the mechanical property of the shell and capsule behavior. As a result, we succeed in fabricate two types of a gas-filled capsule with poly-DL-lactic acid and poly-L-lactic acid shell, using solvent evaporation method. In addition, we observed the behavior of the fabricated capsule by high-speed video camera when the ultrasound was irradiated. We confirmed that the behavior of two capsules was clearly different. To destroy the poly-L-lactic acid capsule with higher elastic modules and tensile strength, we had to irradiate higher sound pressure than one in case of poly-DL-lactic acid capsule.
