Study on Energy Detector with Diversity Receptions

(in English) Spectrum sensing is the key technical challenge for designing the cognitive radio system which would allows the secondary users to opportunistically access the primary bands without interfering with the primary users. Spectrum sensing based on energy detector is seen as the possible candidate for cognitive radio system because of its simplicity and it requires short sensing time. This report presents the energy detection evaluation with diversity receptions over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. It starts with the no diversity case, and presents weighted gain combining and selection gain combining cases. The detection performances are evaluated in terms of probability of detection versus the SNR by considering the OFDM signal as the primary signal.
