Fast frequency sweep using SSG-DBR laser integrating thermal drift compensation mesa structure

(in English) SSG-DBR-LD is attractive for various applications in, for example, WDM systems and medical OCT systems, because of its fast and wide wavelength tuning characteristics. However, the tuning speed was actually limited to seconds by a thermal drift.
In this work, we introduced a thermal drift compensator into SSG-DBR-LD, and suppressed the drift. We achieved an accurate and wide wavelength sweep of more than 140 nm by synchronously driving four SSG-DBR-LDs.
